Animation

This assignment was to create sixty-second animation with a minimum of six hundred frames at ten frames per second. We were encouraged to use rotoscoping techniques to generate the animation. We edited each frame in Photoshop using different methods, such as object masking and brushes, and then exported it to Adobe Premiere to edit the animation together. We also were required to add audio to our animation through GarageBand to generate sound effects and loops to create a music soundtrack to implement in the final animation. The audio was required to blend with the images displayed on the screen, make the viewer understand what they were seeing, and make the animation more meaningful. This assignment was to create a three to five-minute documentary on a topic of our choice with one to three minutes of b-roll, respectively. We were given access to Adobe Premiere to create this project and needed to include transitions, credits, and audio files to the video. For this assignment, I created a documentary of my roommate Claire Jones, a trained runner competing in races her entire life. She grew up running as her parents were runners, and she has brought this skill with her to college. She explains the hardships she has faced with running in college, how she balances her work, how she got into running, and where she wants it to take her. I interviewed Claire and went on a few runs with her to gather footage. Then, I placed all the video and audio files into Adobe Premiere and edited the documentary with transitions, background music, pictures, and text. Illustration Project

This assignment was to create an interactive illustration using HTML5 Canvas with at least 2,000 lines of code and include ten shapes and gradients to illustrate dimension. We were required to make each image appear that stood out on the page as well as have multiple interactive elements that kept the user entertained and engaged in the illustration. The code needed to be well organized and flow through, with meaningful comments to explain where and what each element was. For this assignment, I used two inspiration pictures; one was a cartoon city, and the other was a 3D version of the Powerpuff Girls to create my final illustration. I added gradients to the shapes I made to have them appear three-dimensional, as well as using mouseX and mouseY components to make the work user interactive.
