Calligram

 

A calligram is a design in which the letters of a word are rearranged and designed to form a decorative figure for an art piece or a statement. This assignment required us to use a self-portrait and transform it into a calligram using words or sentences that are personal to us. 

In my calligram's face, hair, and outfit, I used adjectives that I felt described myself and who I am striving to be. In the background, I used portions of my essay that helped me get accepted into the University of Tampa, which has allowed me to be where I am today. I used Adobe Illustrator to individually type out, shape, and color the words to form my self-portrait and create this calligram.
